Entry & Qualification
The parent / legal guardian / nominated representative, Rider and Owner with any PRA recognised Pony Race must abide by the PRA Regulations. Failure to do so
may result in Entries being declined by The PRA Board and the individual becoming a disqualified person (Regulations 88-93).
(i) Entries shall close at 10:30am on the day of closing or as otherwise advertised. Failure to submit before the specified date may result in the Entry being
declined.
(ii) Entries may only be made on the Official Entry Form and will only be accepted with the Full Entry Fee. Entries may only be made by post and in person. Faxed or
emailed Entries will not be accepted. Entries that are incomplete or incorrectly completed will be declined, amendments are not permitted to be made by either The PRA or
Organisers - a new Entry will need to be submitted.
(iii) Each Entry must be accompanied by a non-refundable £15 Entry Fee made payable to The Pony Racing Authority.
(a) Any Entry whose Entry Fee is returned to The PRA or Organisers as unpaid shall immediately be prevented from running and future Entries declined until full
payment has been received, in addition to a £15 administration fee payable to The PRA.
(iv) The Pony name on the Entry Form must match the name on the Passport and/or valid JMB Certificate.
(v) A race may be declared void at the discretion of the organisers if less than six Entries are received by the time Entries close.
(vi) No Entry may be changed or Pony substitued following close of Entries.
(vii) All Entries must be accompanied with a photocopy of the Pony's valid Joint Measurement Board Scheme Certificate (JMB Certificate) or Full Height
Certificate. Failure to provide this will result in the Entry being declined. (See Regulation 16(ii)).
(ix) Entries must be accompanied by a copy of the Pony’s passport and failure to provide this with any Entry will result in the Entry being declined.
(x) Ponies will accumulate points for finishing placed in the Racecourse Series with the top 15 only qualifying for the 2009 Racecourse Series Pony
Racing Finals. 10 points will be awarded per win, 7 for second, 5 points for third and 3 points for fourth. Ponies may only be ridden in the Finals by a Rider that has
accumulated its points during the current Racecourse Series. In the event of a tie the Pony finishing highest placed in its qualifying races will be eligable for The
Finals. In the event of a tie for points, the Pony finishing highest placed in its races will be eligable for The Finals.
(x1) Entries will be accepted on the following basis;
(a) First Priority – Entries submitted by the Master, Member, Subscribers of the Hunt / Pony Club staging the Pony Race.
(b) Second Priority – Entries submitted by the Master, Member, Subscribers of Hunts / Pony Clubs that hold their Pointto-Points on the venue where the Pony Race is being
staged.
(c) Third Priority – Entries submitted by the Master, Member, Subscribers of the Hunts / Pony Clubs confined (as per Point-to-Point regulations) to the Hunt staging the
Pony Race.
(d) Entry forms completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian will include certification of the Rider and Pony's eligibility and suitability by either the Master or
Secretary of the qualifying Hunt or the District Commissioner of The Pony Club. (Regulation may vary according to Point-to-Point Area).
Declarations
(i) The maximum number of runners in any Pony Race shall be 12 (excluding The Finals), 10 in Point-to-Point Pony Races.
(ii) If a ballot has taken place and a subsequent Non-Runner decalred to The PRA every effort will be made for a balloted Pony to get a run.
Information will only be given about balloted Ponies to their registered Owner.
(a) A balloting procedure will be adopted if necessary with nominated Reserves. In exceptional circumstances the races may be divided at the discretion
of the organisers
(iii) Ponies and Riders must be declared as having arrived at the venue with the Nominated Official at the time appointed. Competitors will be informed of this in writing
prior to the meeting and failure to Declare by the stipulated time may result in the Rider and Pony being withdrawn.
(iv) All Riders must be declared on the day by their parent / legal guardian or nominated representative confirming they are wholly responsible for the Rider on
that day.
Non-Runners
(i)If a pony has been Declared to run but is to be withdrawn as a Non-Runner the Owner must notify The PRA as soon as possible in advance
of the day or on the day notification must be given to The PRA Steward. The Owner of any Pony that is decalred to run and that has not been notified as a Non-Runner to The
PRA may be fined £25.
(ii) Any persons Declaring a Pony as a Non-Runner must honestly answer the questions of The PRA when notifying them.
(iii) Any Pony and / or combination Declared to run and announced as a Non-Runner on at least two occassions may have future Entries declined at the absolute discretion of
The PRA Executuve.
(iv) The Owner of a Pony that has been Entered, and after any balloting procedure is officially due to run, but is subsequently not going to Start must
inform the organisers immediately and no later than 5pm the day before the race is due to take place so that nominated Reserves can be informed in order to ensure at least
10 runners in each race.
